Are the Houston Rockets still Title contenders being that they lost EVERYTHING?

I mean, Its a question wether they WERE title contenders. But do you think they still have a chance, Or did Daryl Morey **** everything up?

Just about any team that makes the playoffs in the west is a title contender. I think Houston could beat any eastern conference team in the NBA Finals, the problem in the west is making it that far.

Next season, it's possible. They were definitely a contender last season, just made some bad mistakes down the road. They won 54 games in the West, same as the Heat in the East, and outscored the Blazers overall, but still lost in a series-clinching game by 1 point on a lucky heave. A lot of it has to do with poor coaching. Personally I don't think they'll be contenders this upcoming season, but next season sure. Morey has over $20 million in cap space next summer. They can sign a max player. One idea I had was getting Rondo ($12 million), Millsap ($12 million), and Gerald Green ($5 million - Mid Level Exception), re-signing Beverley ($3 million - Bird rights). Another reason to be hopeful is McHale's contract is up next season, and hopefully he won't be renewed. Brian Shaw will be available as well as Rick Adelman and Jason Kidd. McHales a mediocre coach. I'm sure the players respect him and listen to him. But he's just not very smart or creative.

Of course they are they've got Harden and Dwight Howard, and the just got Chris Bosh. Houston is one of the top contenders.

Honestly they weren't contenders last year and they will never be as long as McHale is the coach and Harden is the leader. At this point they are looking like the 6th-7th seed.
