How much will it cost to round up 12 million or so illegals?
A 2011 estimate says it costs $12,500 to deport an illegal, that is $150 billion right there. To deport them we will need to find them first. Thousands of man hours, invasion of privacy, we are going to need to make sure everyone is here legally (start carrying long form bc etc, with you). Then there is the fence that we need to build and the cost of patrolling it. How much will all this add to our "bankrupt" country's debt?

BILLIONS! The USA CANNOT afford mass deportation. Illegals contribute greatly to this economy, they do the jobs we don't want, and not to mention the loss in taxes to this country. Illegals pay BILLIONS in taxes every year.

Rounding up all illegals ‘not realistic’

How much will it cost us to let them stay?
According to the California Hospital Association (CHA), illegal aliens cost hospitals across the state about $1.25 billion a year in unpaid medical care.
-snip
In 2003, the American Southwest saw 77 hospitals enter bankruptcy due to unpaid medical bills incurred by illegal aliens. A staggering 84 hospitals in California have been forced to close their doors because of the growing crisis. Hospitals which manage to remain open, then pass the unpaid costs onto the rest of us, which translates into more out-of-pocket expenses and higher insurance premiums for all Americans.

lol....we are dealing with a Federal Government that could not keep a gang of 70 year olds out of a public park during the shutdown.
This government is filled with at best inept and at worst self serving bureaucrats.
I would have hope, except that each of them were put there by the people.
Knowing the people are ultimately responsible gives me great fear that America is at its end.
Hope that helps.

Since you're bringing up cost vs benefit analysis, we should also figure out how much it cost to not deport them too.

anyone who can't come up with a cheaper plan than $12,500 per deportation needs to get out of government

Government loses over 100 BILLION in improper payments.
Cost of a 2000 mile GOOD fence that would work is estimated between 8-10 Billion.
Peanuts compared to what they throw away ever year. So what excuse do you want to use now?

Let's send them to your town and see how it goes. Just have your city leaders declare their city to be 'illegal friendly' and stand back.

It would be much more efficient to simply audit the payrolls of companies suspected of hiring illegals and punishing the executives at those companies.

President Obama has deported so many. Putting a price on it I have no idea but he cant do it alone.
