Can electric fan death happens in UK?
I got electric fan at home. I am scared to use it at night when I feel hot, because I heard fan death happens. I used the fan last year nothing happened. But after I heard about fan death. I got frightened to use the fan. Is it safe to use the fan with windows open? Does it happen in UK or not?

It is a complete and absolute MYTH.
People can breath in winds so fast it's difficult or impossible to stand.
The only way an electric fan can harm you is by electrocution if it's dropped in water or improperly wired - which is not uncommon in some parts of the world - or you stick your fingers in the blades...

Maybe it was the 'fan death' of a girl at a Lady Gaga concert that fell off a stage.

How would a breeze kill a person? In a window there is no chance of electric shock if you are in the bed so I see no problem.

In Houston, there was the problem that temperatures would get hot enough that the fan acted like the fan in a convection oven. Of course, the heat waves in Houston would be unbelievable temperatures for the UK.
