i need advice!?
For the past 2-3 years, I've been struggling with chronic procrastination (mostly on homework, studying). It's so bad that I'm up till about 3 in the morning every school night finishing homework because I didn't start it until midnight. I never just not do my homework, though. I always get it done. It's just that I find it hard to start the homework and stay focused. Also, with studying, I'll only start studying the night before (night meaning 3 am). And at this time, I'm so tired that I usually just study for about 30 mins then go to sleep. I'm taking a summer research class, and my mentor wanted something turned in yesterday, but I didn't even do it yet. I've already thought of an excuse to make to her, but I'm just so fed up with how I've been living my life. I want to change so badly. I hate this procrastination habit that I have, and I want it to end! It's this bad now, but its going to get worse if I can't find a solution.
I'm thinking I might have mild ADHD? I'm not sure. Next year is my junior year in High School (aka the most important year) and I want this habit to end.
So my question is, do you guys have any advice to stop procrastinating? Don't say, "just get off your computer" because most of my homework is on my computer. And if I block all the social media sites, I just end up going on my phone. If I try turning off my phone, I just end up turning it back on again.
Also, saying "just do your work" won't help either...
Now back to that homework...

I had the same problem in high school. To me it was that the subjects seemed trivial and uninteresting. Hopefully next you you will have some good teachers and take classes that spark an interest. Usually when you enjoy doing something or learning about a specific subject you will want to do it more. Everyone is different so it's not an easy question to answer.

LOL @ "chronic procrastination" which sounds a lot like laziness to me. We probably all have mild ADHD especially with computers and phones and tvs on 24-7.
I am floored that you are allowed to be up at 3am on a school night and that your parent/s have not made any effort to influence your study habits.
If you want the habit to end then you have to figure out what is meaningful to you and use that as a reward when you change the habit. You could give yourself 10 minutes of social media time, then 20 minutes of homework/studying, or some other time arrangement that works.
If you have a computer in your room, move it to the main part of the house so that you're with other people who will likely keep you honest.
You could also put your phone in the garage or give it to your mom to hold until you're done or something. If it's not near you, you can't fiddle with it.
Also, start your work after dinner rather than screwing around. Putting it off only makes everything worse. The only person who can change this is you so you'll have to figure out something that works and is sustainable because if you don't, your whole life will be completely different than it could have been otherwise.
