have you ever became really good friends with someone you once hated?

Not exactly friends but i stopped hating the person.

It was my fathers brother and for few years i hated him because he came out as gay. Back then i was really young and all i saw was him leaving his family behind.

It was not until later i realized what he had been through as i was going through it too and for the fact that he never left his family. He still cared for his ex wife and his kids and still does to this day and he's one of the bravest people i know of.

We aren't friends mostly due to the age gap but we understand and respect each other.

yes, i have became friends with a lot of people i dislike or hate but its like what they always say "keep your friends close and your enemies closer"
