How can I be exempt from taking foreign language at college??

I know Spanish since I'm Hispanic and right now I'm on college, so i want to know if there is a way to skip those college foreign courses??

if there is a way which is it??

TK i agreed with that but i want to have on my record that i know Spanish and i think i will try french...

    Valleycat1 is right - you may be able to test out. It may cost you something to sit for the test, but it's likely going to be cheaper than the cost for the class.

    But why not take another language instead? Learn French or German, for example. Depending on your major, being trilingual may be an advantage when it comes time to find a job.

    You can indeed take a test to verify that you know a language. But do you really know academic Spanish? If you just grew up speaking it at home, you might have trouble passing a written test.

    Some colleges will let you take advanced placement tests and if you score well enough they will give you credit or exempt you from the requirement. You need to talk to your academic counselor.
