(1)Ramadan is a glorious the 9th month in Islamic calendar where all grown up Muslims are obliged to fast since fajr up to maghrib time for strengthening their taqwa to Allah based on the Qur';an 2:183 (2). This month is a special month based on hadith that all of our good deeds will be rewarded at least 70 times and sunnah prayers such as taraweeh will be recognized just like fard prayers compared to other months. (3)During this month based on hadith all shaytans will be chained so they could not disturb Muslims who perform fasting properly. (4)During this month Muslims could manage their lust and emotion better if they fast properly (5)The Qur'an (nuzulul Qur';an) (6) During Ramadan we will find a night which is better than 1000 months which is called laylatul qadr so many Muslims will perform itiqaf at the mosque for making various ibadah such as praying, reciting and understanding the Qur'an,making dzikir, duas etc so they hope to get great rewards from Allah (6)During the first 10 days in Ramadan based on hadith we will get rahmah(blessing) from Allah, the second 10 days we will get Allah's forgiveness for all of our past sins and the last 10 days we will be freed from hellfire. At the end of Ramadan we will be the winner and sinless. based on hadith.

Source(s): A friendly reminder. We could have Eid on July 28th or July 29th. How can you determine this, well you need to follow your local Mosque. Islamic events depends on the sighting of the moon. If we fast for 29 days, according to my calculation Eid will be on July 28th, and if we fast for 30 days, Eid will be on July 29th. Another word, please follow your local Mosque. We still have to fast for Ramadan, make it most of it. Pay your zakat and fitra before Eid prayer Keep me in your dua. Thanks.

First of all,I will let you know, that, Imam Ali a.s ibn e Abi Talib a.s got martyred in Holy month of Ramadan at 21st of Ramadan

    _________

Ramadan is chief of all months.

Imam Ali (A.S.) said: The month of Ramazan has approached you. It is the chief of all months and the beginning of the year.

Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his progeny) said: O' People! Surely, a great and blessed month has enveloped you. A month, in which there is a night, deeds in which are better than of a thousand months.

Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his progeny) said: Shaaban is my month and the month of Ramazan is the month of Allah, The Exalted, and it is the springtime for the poor.

Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his progeny) was asked: O' Prophet of Allah! Which of the two months possesses a greater reward, Rajab or the month of Ramazan? Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his progeny) replied: Nothing can be compared to the month of Ramazan in terms of reward.

Imam Sajjad (A.S.) and the Month of Ramazan

Imam Sadiq (A.S.) said: With the advent of the month of Ramazan, Imam Ali Ibn al-Hussain (A.S.) would cease to speak about anything except dua, tasbeeh (glorification of Allah), isteghfar (seeking forgiveness) and takbeer (saying 'Allahu Akbar')

Imam Baqir (A.S.) has said: Surely, the Fridays of the month of Ramazan possess an excellence over the Fridays of the other months, just as Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his progeny) possesses an excellence over the other prophets.

Imam Sadiq (A.S.) has said: Allah shall ward off 70 kinds of calamities from one who gives charity in the month of Ramazan.

"O you who believe! Fasting is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you so that you may learn self-restraint." - The Holy Quran, 2:183

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) quoted God as saying: "Fasting is Mine and it I who give reward for it. . .Fasting is like a shield, and he who fasts has two joys: joy when he breaks his fast and joy when he meets his Lord." - Hadith Qudsi 10

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "Whoever fasts the month of Ramadan with faith, and seeks God's pleasure and reward, will have his previous sins forgiven." - Fiqh-us-Sunnah, Volume 3, Number 109

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "Whoever fasts the month of Ramadan, obeying all of its limitations and guarding himself against what is forbidden, has in fact atoned for any sins he committed before it." - Fiqh-us-Sunnah, Volume 3, Number 109

When the Prophet stated that people would be granted forgiveness on the last night in Ramadan, he was asked whether it was Laylat al-Qadr ("Night of Power"), he replied: "No, but a workman is paid his full wages only when he has finished his work." - Al-Tirmidhi, Hadith 617

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) told his followers: "God said: 'Every action of the son of Adam is for him except fasting, for that is solely for Me. I give the reward for it.' The fast is a shield. If one is fasting, he should not use foul language, raise his voice (in anger), or behave foolishly. If someone reviles him or fights with him he should say, 'I am fasting' (instead of responding in kind). - Fiqh-us-Sunnah, Volume 3, Number 107A

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "Whoever does not give up telling lies, (committing) evil deeds and speaking harshly to others, God is not in need of his (fasting)." - Sahih Al-Bukhari, Volume 8, Hadith 83

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "Fasting is not (just abstaining) from eating and drinking, but also from vain speech and foul language."

"Perhaps a fasting person will gain nothing from his fast save hunger, and perhaps the one who stands to pray at night will gain nothing from his standing except sleeplessness."

    Fiqh-us-Sunnah, Volume 3, Number 132A

The Prophet also said: "Actions are judged (by God) according to the intention behind them, and everyone is (rewarded for) what he intended." - Fiqh-us-Sunnah, Volume 3, Number 113C

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "Praising God is better than giving charity, giving charity is better than fasting, and fasting is a protection from Hell." - Al-Tirmidhi, Hadith 671

The Prophet also said: "If anyone fasts for a day out of a desire to please God, God will remove him from (Hell) as far as a crow flies from the time it is a young bird until it dies of old age." - Al-Tirmidhi, Hadith 637

Well it was the month in which the Quran was completed, it is mandatory that Muslims fast during this if they're physically & mentally capable

"Ramadan is the (month) in which the Quran was sent down, as a guide to mankind and a clear guidance and judgment (so that mankind will distinguish from right and wrong).."

    Quran 2:183

Oh you who believe! Fasting is prescribed to you as it was prescribed to those before you, that you many learn piety and righteousness"

    Quran 2:183

There is also the Nigh of Power in this month, agreed by list scholars to be a 27th,

"Indeed We have revealed it (Qur'an) in the night of Power. And what will explain to you what the night of Power is? The night of Power is better than a thousand months. Therein descends the Angels and the Spirit (Jibreel) by Allah's permission, on every errand: (they say) "Peace" (continuously) till the rise of Morning!"

    Quran 97:1-5
