Christians and atheists: Why don't we all get that evolution has no bearing on the truth of Christianity?

circular arguments are a sure sign of intellectual inferiority.

So according to the bible, god made everything in six days, created Adam from dirt, etc. Eve sinned and now we're all doomed. Unless you take that as an allegory or a metaphor, it does in fact disprove the entire idea of original sin.

Of course the fact of evolution disproves the bible.

Evolution is a device to deny God and sin.

It is indefensible and proved impossible, so those that hold to it are either grossly ignorant or do so from heart motive.

Evolution denies truth and only in the sense that lies have no effect upon truth can Evolution be said to have no bearing.

Well you are not the first Christian to pick and choose which parts of your religion to believe or not to believe. Anyway evolution clearly refutes and disproves Genesis which weather you like it or not is a major part of Christianity. No evolution does not disprove the story of jesus......but it does disprove the story of the christian god.

So why have a Bible at all?

If all other stories are of no concern, why accept any? Including the resurrection claim?

IMHO

1.) Evolution is a fact, get over it.

2.) The bible claims god created animals ready formed, evolution proves this isn't true.

3.) If one of the basic claims of the bible is proved to be untrue why should I believe any of it is true.

4.) Including anything to do with the son of god coming back to life.

Get this clear in your mind, the bible is the ONLY source for zombie jesus and evolution proves the bible is a work of fiction.

- We who think, atheists, know this. Fundies are the ones who insist that evolution has something to do with god or religion.

This cannot be proved or disproved by disproving or proving evolution.

And if you say evolution disproves the Bible

- Again, those of us who think NEVER say that, fundies bring it up.

even if the Bible was hogwash written by Van Gogh while going mad it would have no impact on the historical reality or nonreality of Jesus' death and resurrection.

- YES, which has nothing to do with evolution.

So why keep hitting on this same tired point?

- "WE" don't, brain dead fundies do and we simply say that they are idiots, but then they are too stupid to know that they are stupid.

Romans 5 - Jesus' entire mission is to save us from "Adam's transgression." Adam and Eve is a fairy tale, thus Christianity is moot and void.

"Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come." - Rom 5:14

Thus Christianity makes no sense (not that it did anyway).

No Adam, no original sin. Jesus is even referred to as the Second Adam.
