Where is a good place to live near Ft. Lewis. WA?

Update:

My husband may get stationed there and we were looking at Lacey, WA. We've heard Tacoma is not to safe, but insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

    JBLM seems to have created some bad neighborhoods close by. Lacey should be a good area, but I prefer closer to Olympia. It's a great city.
