Do you get use of the kitchen?
do you eat with the family and are they providing food?
do you have cable and internet that is provided by your sister?
If you do not get the use of the kitchen and if you are not being fed by them that makes a difference.
If they are providing internet and cable that also makes a difference.
If you get use of the kitchen and or are being provided food and you have cable and internet then I would think $200 a month would be fair. And If I was your sister I would bank half of that and return it to you as a deposit on a house, condo or apartment when you are ready to move out.
If you do not get use of the kitchen if you do not get cable and internet I would think $100 and I would be looking to move as soon as possible.
If you are doing your own laundry, using your own soap and other supplies then that would reduce the cost for your sister and that should be taken into account.
Check the paper and see what people are charging for rooms with and without kitchen privileges.
When you are checking make sure the size of the room you have is comparable to what you are looking at.

It's up to you and your sister to come up with a price that is reasonable for both. Best to check out the going rate for similar in the same neighborhood or near by (about 5 miles radius)

you pay what they ask - or you find somewhere else to live
YOU dont choose what the rent SHOULD be - yoru landlord(sister) decides what it IS.
