how old is my German violin?

The label on the inside says Erzeugt in Wernitzgrun Markneukirchen Deutschland 19 made in Germany, Im pretty sure it is 30+ years old but i figured there should be 2 numbers written beside the 19 saying what year it was made in not sure why there isnt, but it looks pretty old

Update 2:

the year doesnt have to be exact, ould just like to have some kind of idea on maybe which decade

Probably the 1920's. The label only says it was made in the town of Wernitzgrun near Markneukirchen in Germany. Since the Country is also written as Deutchland, the instrument was probably made around 1921 during the transition when the McKinley Tariff act required the country of manufacture to be in English. Fyi, your photo links don't work. You will need it looked at in person for a true evaluation, it could have been made by the Gotz firm.

Maybe if you post a picture, we might be able to help. And if you know a luthier, you can stop by and have it inspected.

there's tons of hits online using those words so start there and look for an expert in violins and email them.

note: the 19 probably was the year and the last two digits may have been scratched or worn off. You may need to use a bright light and magnifying glass to see if you can pull out the date. It also may be somewhere else, perhaps inside (you'll need a small mirror like mechanics use and a bright light)
