the malaysian airline as well.if that was me i would say avoid war zone in Ukraine? Ukraine has allowed flight over their airspace why war is on should they be sued?

When you supply modern weapons to Terrorists (rebels as they like to be known) atrocities are bound to happen. Putin appears to have taken the place of Bin Laden, except that he has the war machine to achieve his aims. If that means killing innocent people, so be it.
It has been reported , that several Airlines have been using this route, which after all is a declared war zone. No doubt the operators were more concerned in saving fuels, than the safety of the passengers.
As for your suggestion of compensation, I am sure is something that will be considered by the aggrieved Nations.

I don't blame Malaysian Airlines. Sure, it was known that the rebels had manpads, but those can't possibly harm a plane at 10000 meters. It was not known that the rebels had this Buk system, and were going to use it in an indiscriminate fashion.

if it was shot down it's a criminal offence and those responsible punished if it was incompetence by others involved they should be punished but compensation well it will not buy loved ones back how come money is the healing medicine today it's so crass really pay me and it's alright in other words yuk
