Law Career vs Medical Career?
Hi everyone.
I'm in a huge dilemma right now. I'm going to college in about a month and I have decided to major in Political Science. I wanted to be a lawyer, but after extensive research, I've noticed that the demand for law jobs is too high. I saw that several lawyers can't get jobs because there are too many people with the degree but not enough jobs to spread around.
Is the medical field any better? In the past, I've decided that if I cannot be a lawyer, I would become a pediatrician, pharmaceutical scientist or a physician's assistant.
I like the thought of both careers very much. But I'm worried about being able to get a job.

Both fields pay well. Both will require hard work. Both job markets are very competitive. Not sure if you are going for a nursing degree or a MD, but from a purely analytical perspective, JD has better ROI than MD because you can start earning money earlier.
The biggest question you need to answer for yourself is: Where does your passion lie? I know a lot of JDs that hate their job because of their career choice. You probably need to do a bit more research and get into the details of the everyday lives of each respective career choice.

It's possible to have a job that's in the law and medical field such as a medical law attorney.

I'd do the medical over law if it was me. Nursing, physician's assistant, and other medical careers have more jobs.
