Want to build 5 bedrm 5 bath house upstate NY on 7 acres. Rm 16x16 Handicap small elevator. What is the cost and what permits are needed.?

The cost to build and material needed.The home has to be hurricane and storm proof up to code.Wanted to architect students and others that build home from scratch for suggestions. I owe the land. It has to have slope roof to prevent snow build up.No house was on the land before. Need to know how to get some funding, grants if that is possible.

    If there has not been a dwelling on this land you start from scratch. Permits for a well, septic system, building permit, and perhaps even an environmental impact. You will pay to have electricity brought to your building. Some locations will not allow a home that big. You have to go to the local building department and get their advice. Where I live, no new wells are permitted, so no building permits have been issued.

    How much & what do I need.Every time I read that in a question I just want to sceam. You have to ask the people that issues permits and negotiate the costs with a contractor after they have seen your plans and requirements. If you are rich enough to afford this type of project then you should be aware of this.
