When a wave crashes, some of it turns to waves in the air. Some of those waves hit a person's eardrum, and turn into electrical waves that dance around the brain with many other waves. When that person later thinks about the sound of the ocean, the wave is resurrected in the brain to dance again.
Waves go to the shore to transcend.
