Recipe calls for crushed tomatoes, I only have diced?

I'm making a sausage penne tonight with vodka sauce. The recipe calls for crushed tomatoes and I only have diced. Can I blend them and get the same result?

    You can put them in a bowl and just crush them with your hands.

    Any of the other suggestions will do as well.

    -That'll "work." It won't taste EXACTLY the Same... But if you put enough Vodka in the "Sauce", NOBODIES gonna Notice the difference- Anyway ! ;)
