When you find out someone is religious do you automatically think of them different?

    I downgrade them in terms of the combination of high intelligence

    and great courage that it takes to choose atheism.

    Not really, though it does please me to know that a person has chosen to follow God.

    Yes. I think of them as religious.

    If that adjective had no meaning,

    there would be no point in having it.

    It is true, when we see other folk act out in a religious fashion, we tend to get judgmental because we feel guilty that we have not acted out that way when we had the opportunity. This judgmental feeling comes from pride. Pride makes us despise others and jealousy is born. One of the most dangerous vices is jealousy. It leads to murder.

    I try not to. I try to judge them based on their character as a person, and their acts. Religious and non-religous people a lot of the time have similar values. Its mainly the extremists who tend to clash. But they clash with the more liberal members of their faith.

    I never ask, as I don't really care, so they would have to offer the information...
