do the police actually punish underage kids having sex? why is it illegal then?

is it a law aimed at older people or at both the older and the younger people? so the younger people aren't actually bound by any age of consent laws...?

Technically it is illegal because minors are considered a vulnerable group. They are not fully mentally developed and lack the maturity to make efficient decisions.

If a parent wanted to bring charges against their child's sexual partner they could. However, most District Attorneys would see it as a waste of time and wouldn't bother perusing the case though and there's always the chance the other party could bring charges as well. The age of consent is normally only used when the sexual partner is much older than the child.

There's loads of really weird laws regarding sex. Did you know in some states it's illegal to perform sodomy and in others all other sexual positions besides missionary are considered illegal.

It is illegal for minors under the age of 16 to have sex. And police also punish children who do if it is reported.

Let's say two 14 year old have sex and one of their parents find out. That parent can go to the police and the other child can be charged with molestation or whatever. Even if the other child was younger they can still be charged and punished.

I believe that it's only illegal if one person is underage and then the other one is over-age. Then they can press charges.

I think it's illegal because it's really stupid.

Like, one of the most stupid things to do, considering you live ~ 80-100 years on average and 15 is not even a 1/4 of that age.

Basically, it's throwing away your "deserved" youth away for some knowledge you may actually get later in life anyway, what the heck is the use in that? What do you actually learn at that stage? You just act ridiculously and make a fool of yourself and you miss out on your whole childhood-teenagehood over some sex you are obviously going to get later? It's just dumb, perhaps throw away your whole education because you remain pregnant or become a daddy and can't afford studying anymore, or you end up unemployed for the same exact problem and stay ignorant, and later vote for idiots to rule the world, what is the point in that? What is your contribution to the world.
