There is no truth. There is an idea of truth, and using this ideal, the mind has motivation to search, seek, question. The idea of truth is the answer you already have, which gives rise to the questions about how to find it. For the mind, there is only falseness. The mind can determine what is false because falseness is limited enough to for the mind to distinguish. Truth on the other hand is an ideal. I'm not talking about simple physical truth such as "how long should I cook an egg for?" Ans "3 minutes"; rather, I'm talking about the subjective truths which society places before you as if they are certain, when they are not. The issue of whether there is a God, a perfect person, and whether or not there are absolute morals and standards which one should strive for. All those ideals are subjective truths, and they are an illusion created by thought, but also, they are illusions that have no objective use. It doesn't matter if you know the truth, you will still have the same limited desires and wishes that you formed before you learnt the truth. Therefore, what use is knowing it? You'll still be sad if you don't get what you want, and happy if you do. Actually, there is nothing you need to learn, no truth whatsoever. What is worth understanding (observing, not knowing) is how the mind works (physically). Watching how thought functions, not trying to manipulate it.

Truth searched and found me. My mind was in darkness before.

Nope. If you think "eh this might be true but I think it could be something else.. But I'm not gonna listen to this idea or this idea or this idea cuz it's stupid" then you'll never get to look at all the options so you may never figure out the truth.

great question! I think because truth is subjective this will determine how open your mind will be to new ideas vs. what you know to be true. your truth is determined on what you've learned as others are dependant upon what they've learned. in order for you to have an open mind about anything you must first be neutral. this is possible to be if what you're seeking is not that important to you. However, if what you call truth is very important to you, you will be less likely to have an open mind or neutrality about someone else's truth that challenges it.

You'll fall hard for science. It's the most beautiful area you can study.
Other than that, having an open mind+having a religion, is torture.
