why do ghetto people live the way they do?

Do you have some kind of proof that you are just as poor as them? If you have "nicer stuff" there is very little chance that your income and/or assets are of equal worth or that your fixed expenses are as high. People who own a computer, buy clothes and other goods first hand and have never missed more than one meal in a row have no concept of actual poverty. People do not live in unsafe squalid conditions by choice and they are not poor because they are lazy or do drugs.(There are as many drug addicted wealthy people as poor.)

Living in poverty can suck the hope and joy right out of life. It is hard to care about the "crap" in the yard when you are scrambling for your kids next meal. It is impossible to get out and pick up the "crap" as you become more and more disabled from an inability to pay for health care or medications. It is impossible to supervise your children when you are working two minimum wage jobs.....

You never really know someone's financial circumstances. Just because they live near you doesn't mean they have the same income, family members to pay for, etc. "Ghetto" people is somewhat ignorant as well as assuming they are this way because they "spend all their money on drugs and alcohol." Don't judge people until you have been in their situation, be thankful for what you have. :)

A lot of drug-dealers life in ghetto's, because police are controlling these areas less.

Maybe that is their personal preference? Maybe they choose to spend their money on things other than making their house look good. Also, that must be a pretty stinky place if there is crap all over the place.

If they are truly "ghetto folks" and grew up there, it would be very uncomfortable, if not impossible, for them to change.
