I've never seen the Red Sox have a fire sale like this before. I don't know if this is going to make us better in the future or worse. Back to back World Championships would have been nice, but they nixed any chance of that when they let Ellsbury go. When it became clear they were not going to have a realistic chance of making they playoffs, they decided to revamp the team. Again, will it work? Time will tell.

Didn't they just trade 5 pitchers in the last week or so? I am shaking my head. I agree. The Red Sox are looking ahead.

The problem will be their lack of pitching talent. Lets be clear, the Red Sox are playing for next season now.

Cespendes is a .256 hitter right now, not exactly great but ok.
