Why doesn't my boss like me or understand me?

Question

I work in a kitchen, as a kitchen porter - my job is all very physical, which I love and enjoy. I do all what others consider "sh*t jobs"... Running to shops, emptying bins, picking herbs, Working with smelly meats like fish and pork.

I am only working there until April 27th 2015. So 9 more months left.

Basically I am the kind of person who is very knit picky, and a bit of an OCD worker. I only work because I enjoy it and I like doing a good job, to please myself.. i like doing the best job possible, because I've been told I am an idiot by parents and teachers at school when I was a kid.. so I like overworking and putting in 100% to prove to myself that I can work with principel.

I even offered to work for free, for about about half an hour. At the end of my shift. Because I have no friends nor do I care about social life. All I care about is work, and saving for future.

I don't have an off switch. If all my boss cares about is budget.. then what is her problem when I personally and purely for my own pleasure work for free to keep my mind occupied. (OCD) I love my job, and I feel happy when I do a good job, why can't they understand that?

Its not like I am losing them money, or hurting anyone? I am not losing money myself nor am I losing petrol. I am just using my god given time to do something I enjoy and work at.

What is their problem with me? I am sorry that I don't have a certain disdain for work and the world...

Legally your boss can't work you for free, no matter how okay you are with it. There are laws against it and she could be in huge trouble if someone contacted the labor board about it. There have been massive class action lawsuits against WalMart for the same thing. And there may not be enough money in the budget to pay anyone overtime. If you're that into working, get a second job.
