Thoughts on the Poisonwood Bible?
I've been trying and trying to finish it, but it's one of the few books I absolutely cannot get into.
It's just chapter after chapter of the generally uninteresting characters talking about the village and church sermons. It doesn't exactly help that it's 540+ pages...
Has anybody else here read it, and if so did you have the same problems?

You lasted longer than I did. If I can't get 'into' something by the end of Chapter 1, I stop. I quit The Hobbit on page 7, and Still Life with Woodpecker on page 9. I can't remember getting past page 5 for Poisonwood Bible or Poland.
