Going to school I was taught...Venezuela?

Going to school I was taught that Venezuela was part of South America. I am now told by a friend that Venezuela is part of the Greater Antilles?

The Greater Antilles are islands. Venezuela is not an island. You do know how to use Google maps, right? Go to maps.google.com and type in Venezuela.

Venezuela is in South America. Part of its territory (Nueva Esparza etc.) contains islands that are part of the LESSER Antilles however.

Source(s): Venezuela is part of South America BUT it does have some islands that are part of its territories that could be considered part of the Antilles, however. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lesser_Antilles

Your friend should go back to school. Go to a library or learn to use Google or Yahoo.

    Almost incredible
