Why isn't Mike Piazza in the HOF? He was the greatest offensive catcher in baseball history and no one ever proved he juiced.?

    A few reasons:

Plenty of people think Piazza used, or probably did, and for them, it's better to be SAFE than SORRY.

Piazza has a reputation for being a terrible defensive catcher.

The ballots have been stupid loaded; just this year, there were three 300-win pitchers, two 3000-hit players, the all-time HR leader, another 3 with 500 home runs...

Piazza already received 62.2% on his second ballot, and was one of only two players to see their vote totals "increase" from last year (15 players saw their percentages "decrease," including Lee Smith, who went from 47.8% in 2013 to 29.9%). At 62.2% in his second year, Piazza is actually doing better than HOF players like Ryne Sandberg (61.1%), Eddie Mathews (40.9%), Harmon Killebrew (59.3%), Billy Williams (40.9%), Phil Niekro (59.9%), Don Sutton (57.4%) and Gary Carter (33.8%) did on their second ballots. Piazza would "probably" be elected next year if it weren't for Randy Johnson, Pedro Martinez "and" John Smoltz debuting.

I wouldn't call him the greatest offensive catcher. But he did hit 62% last year in only his second year on the ballot. That bodes well for induction down the road.

The steroids-induced "voter stupidity plague" affects more than just the players that so-called "fans" WANT to see tarred & feathered.

No one ever proved Clemens used anything, either. And just to get to accusations, one has to take the extremely flimsy word of a proven liar and date rapist. And thus another example of how steroids make people stupid, even indirectly.

Just because it hasn't been proven doesn't mean he didn't do it.

He DIDNT take steroids. If he did he would of been hitting 50 home runs like everybody else.

    The jury is still out.

He will be one day, hopefully next year... He deserves to be...
