NBA Is Kobe actually more Skilled than MJ Offensively?
Dont Criticize me Mj Fans because this is only according to my Observation
Yeah Mj is still the GOAT but when it comes to skills i think kobe is more fundamental, I think Kobe is a better jump shooter, has way better ball handles, very quick (like Mj), Genius in the Post, Better isolation than MJ, all Mj can do is smartly move the ball around his teammates then catch and shoot and he will knock it down, kobe is a guy who has a million moves! yeah he is a Ball hog but what we are talking about here is skills! Kobe is an Offensive Mastermind he has more offensive skills than Mj (Even Coach Phil Jackson said that) Mj is just more efficient scorer than Kobe and Smarter at selecting shots, But skills Hands down for Kobe.

He is undeniably a FAR better 3 point shooter and is comparable in many other areas. As for mid range, it's about even. Ball handling and post game is also about the same, but there's no way Kobe is 'better' in isolation than MJ was. When you say 'skills' I don't know exactly what you're referring to. The most important skill is your ability to apply your skills, meaning to be a more efficient scorer and score more PPG neither of which Kobe was able to do. I'm not saying it's not close, though.

Kobe is statistically a far less accurate shooter than MJ, so I don't know how you can say he was a better jump shooter. The thing that made MJ special was that he could score in traffic through contact like it was nothing. Maybe taking open shots Kobe would be better, but I doubt it. Kobe's not a good shooter at all. He's more of a scorer than a shooter.

MJ played in a more physical NBA and still has higher scoring averages than Kobe so you can't say Kobe's moves were better, especially when Kobe has been using Jordan's fadeaway jump shot for the 2nd half of his career. Kobe was a better 3 point shooter and probably a better dribbler but Jordan was better at finding ways to score, he was a better defender, and he was stronger and better posting up than Kobe.

Kobe can shoot 3's better. Kobe has a much worse shot selection than MJ to me which is partially why I think Jordan is much better. I respect guys who keep their fg% decent at least. Jordan also could follow the triple post better, Kobe's last 2 championship teams really didn't have a killer instinct they just had superior skill.
The Bulls were way more intimidating.

If he's more skilled than MJ, he has done a great job of hiding it his entire career.
MJ had great fundamentals. At age 40, he had a 43 point 10 rebound game to go along with 4 steals and a block. You can't tell me he was just more athletic than everyone else. He didn't become the goat just on athleticism alone.

No, Kobe's skills are smoother, but also slower, that's why MJ's Clutch-stats are much higher(which shows you how the skills hold-up under pressure), it might not have looked as pretty, but MJ could finish, on speed, on power, where Kobe is stoppable.

If MJ's moves are so basic why was he so hard to defend?
31 ppg in his career and led the league in scoring 10 times

MJ is more athletic
