How much exercise for my 9 year old Jack Russell?

My little girl is 9.5 years old and still has the energy of a puppy. I love being active with her but lately I think I have been over doing the exercise. She gets very sore muscles and has been to the vet for some acupuncture which really helps her a lot. We go for daily walks and I throw the ball for her a lot too. Lots of running and jumping. Should I tone down the amount of exercise or change the type of exercise for her? Just how much exercise does a nearly 10 year old need every day?

Update:

Forgot to mention that she's a blue heeler cross. Not sure if that naturally makes her twice as active and full of energy but that's what she's like.

Update 2:

Thanks SheWolf, yes I do try to take excellent care of her. Unfortunately she's the kind of dog that doesn't really tell me when she's had enough. I never exercise her to the point of exhaustion but it still seems like she's suffering in the long run with the necessity of the accupuncture sessions due to overly sore muscles.

I have a jack the same age and he is getting really depressed like and not so hyper anymore and i think its cause he is getting older and we dont take him on many walks. If he isnt needing of exercise for weight loss then just take him on different walks every now and then. Take him on adventures! Lol. Just as long and he doesnt start hiding under beds or behing couches wanting to sleep all day or be a loner or less energetic than these hyper jacks are known to b then it should be fine. Dont strees yourself on having to go out alot unless u want to. And if u go outside then just take your dog. Anything likw THAT will make him happy. Hope i helped. God bless

Honestly the dog will tell you when it's done. There's no real set amount of exorcise it needs as long as it's getting some. When she's tired she'll stop. I'm glad she's as active as she is at that age, means you've taken great care of her.

3-4 walks daily, 30-40 minutes each time.
