No Government in the world accepts DNA as proof of ancestry and that includes Native American Tribal Governments, so no you are wasting your time and money doing DNA testing, it is purely an entertainment products.
If you want to investigate your family story then you research and that starts with you as you have to prove each and every connection from yourself back to the claims family story NA ancestor, your research starts at home with your own birth certificate which is a connecting records showing you and your parents on one record this will help you find other real records at home http://familytimeline.webs.com/recordsinyourownhom...

NO!!!! 1, There is no tribe in the US, at least that accepts DNA testing,
2. YOU have no "tribe", if you did you would be a member of that tribe and would be actively involved with it.
3. IF you ancestor was registered on the DAWES ROLLS there is a slight possibility that you can "PROVE" your ancestry, however, none of the tribes that are part of the DAWES ROLLS are accepting application for membership. IF the person who you state is Native American is your Great-Grandparent, their children would be 1/2; their Grandchildren would be 1/4 and their GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN would be 1/8 and there are very few Native American tribes that accept any one with that amount based on Blood Quantian.

dna is NOT ACCEPTED by any tribe, since it does not show name of a tribe. The only thing acceptable is standard research. Your gr grandmother being native american, would not make you 1/2 in the least.

Ummm - that would be a little like me trying to become a Huguenot, and make a living with musket, ax and horse-drawn plow. You are what you are. You can read about your ancestors, and read about the history of the area they lived in, but that's about it.
While you're reading, read about the rates of alcoholism and unemployment among Native Americans on reservations. It's not pretty.
