Let's talk jabs. Who's got the best?

1. Who had the fastest?

2. Who had the most accurate?

3. Who had the strongest?

4. Who had the best overall?

Update:

Oh yeah, Bill, it's either past or present.

I love that you broke it down into categories. Those first three questions really make you think about how you answer the last question.

    1. Tough, but I have to go w/ Ali. Sweet Pea was the guy I was debating against.

    2. Larry Holmes

    3. Sonny Liston

This was the most difficult for me. I have three contenders; Sonny Liston, George Foreman and Ike Quartey. Liston could break faces with his jab, so he gets the nod here, but in general Foreman deserved an honorable mention.

Ike is interesting to me. If he were a HW like Liston, I think he would've been able to knock teeth out and break bones with his jab. It was THAT heavy, and his jab is one of the GOAT. P4P his jab is as heavy as Liston's IMO, but fact is that a 150lb dude can't jab as strong as a heavyweight.

    4. Larry Holmes, best jab ever.

    1. The fastest: Muhammad Ali

    2. The most accurate: This has to be Joe Louis's jab, Louis's was even more accurate than Larry Holmes's jab(I hate when people forget Louis's jab, actually Louis was more accurate than Holmes with every punch)

    3. The strongest: Tie between Sonny Liston and the Old George Foreman(I've read an interview with a guy who was sparring partner from Lennox Lewis and the Old George Foreman and wrote that even the Old Foreman's jab was much harder than Lewis and he trained with a prime Lewis and Sonny hit with his jab once the front teeth out of one of his opponents)

    4. The best overall: I have to give it to Ali's jab(Larry's jab is grossly overrated, Ali's was not only more accurate, but also much faster. The one of Holmes had more power behind it though.)

    Fastest---Muhammad Ali

    Most Accurate---Larry Holmes

    Strongest----Sonny Liston

Best Overall--Larry Holmes, I think he was so good/great that he can win a fight just using the jab, mostly his left jab.

    Now or overall.

IMO Holmes might have had the fastest jab, flicking it back and forth, but Liston's knocked out people along with teeth and more than one detached retina. Holmes scored more with his along with Ali, but Liston hurt more people with his telephone like jab.

Either Liston or Wlad Klitschko in my opinion. Both of them could knock out fighters with their jabs.
