Do mortgage foreclosure consultant make a decent living, even in today's economy? Do they earn at least $50,000, those self-employed?

I would like to be a self-employed mortgage foreclosure consultant. Do they earn a decent living, like $50,000 a year, or do they struggle to make ends meet? I want to start my own foreclosure consultant business in Illinois. Is this usually a profitable business?

Nope. Rates of foreclosures are not constant. So anybody depending on them for income will have an ebb and flow in related income.

"Consultant"? Better, work for financial institutions if you want steady money. People helping on foreclosures do not get rich doing them. The property owner could not pay the mortgage. The financial institution needs to stop the huge loss of income. Nobody really wins much money.

I hope you are fully licensed and bonded. Otherwise you won't have to worry about income, you'll be in prison.

There really isn't much business strictly in foreclosures.
