Does it insult you when people say your child is getting big under a picture?

So I noticed when I post pictures of my nephew; sometimes people post "HE IS GETTING SO BIG!." Rather then "Aw how handsome, cute etc." I just find it kind of rude when people say the child is getting big rather then he is cute, handsome etc. Does anyone feel like this?

I think personally you are just overly sensitive and or are offended easily. When someone comments that your child is "Getting So Big"...they simply mean that your child is growing up. What is so offensive about that? It's not rude, it's just their opinions about obvious facts of life. Growth! Maybe not everyone thinks your child is cute or handsome etc, instead of being straight forward and completely rude, they comment on the good sides of their truthful opinion. I think it's appropriate and actually quite nice!!!

Of course not. Why would it insult me when people comment how well they are growing? You do know that is what kids are SUPPOSED to do, right? People say kids are getting big as a compliment, and because they are happy to see the child is obviously thriving.

Remember, they say 'big', not 'fat'.

Why on earth would that be insulting? Kids grow. Sometimes the growth startles people, especially if they haven't seen them in person lately.

Children grow up fast. What's so wrong with that? People get too easily offended these days.
