Why does a message on my iPhone keep popping up that that "This accessory may not be supported"?

Update:

I am charging it if that makes a difference but I am using the charger that came with the phone.

It says this because the accessories aren't "supported" with your phone meaning it wouldn't be a wise choice to use that accessory with your phone because it was made cheap. Say you got a $3.00 or less charger from amazon, those cheap chargers can overheat at night and cause fires and that's probably true with the stuff that says "this accessory may not be supported". This is where i get all my electronic accessories. They are very cheap and very good products. www.monoprice.com.
