Yes. In the middle of nowhere is the best place to go naked (weather permitting!), because you are unlikely to be seen by anyone who might get upset by your nakedness. It is my experience that it is the casual dog-walker who is most likely to get upset, the more determined hiker - as you might encounter in more remote country - is not usually a problem.

Every year BN organise a week-long event on an normally 'textile' camp site in Cornwall and one of the traditions that has become established over the last few years is a walk on Bodmin moor for those who are energetic enough. This we usually do naked. Occasionally we have encountered other walkers and it has never been a problem.

I have also walked alone in the Lake District and in the countryside near my home in the Midlands when weather and other circumstances allow.

I used to do a lot of hiking and camping in the wilderness, often days from civilization. Once you're that far from running into other people, why not? On hot days, it was nice to be out hiking and at camp sans clothes.
