How do you replace a laptop HD?
I have a Sony SVE14A35CXH laptop. I believe the hard drive that is currently installed is a Toshiba 750GB SATA 5400RPM. It crashed and I need to replace. I have never replaced one. The actual replacing is easy enough, but have some questions:
1. Do I need to mess with the BIOS in anyway or install any software (other than the OS software I have on disc)?
2. Aside from being SATA and physically fitting in the computer, how do I know which HD to choose?
Any additional tips are greatly appreciated!

1. No, just the OS.
2. SATA & 2.5" is just about what you're looking for.
If you're wanting a faster HDD you could check the HDD specs, such as rpm, read & write speeds etc.
If you're looking for a reliable HDD at a reasonable price, I'd recommend looking at the Western Digital Blue Drives.
