Pollip* on cervix?

Hi, I went to the E.R last night because i do no have insurance and have not had my menstrual cycle in 2 months. Im not pregnant, I was given a blood test and urine test and results showed negative. I was given an exam. The doctor said I have a pollip on my cervix but it was nothing to worry about and had a bacteria infection which was common during summer..

I scheduled a appt with a Obgyn in the middle of Sept. Because that's the only time I can afford the office visit.

My question is I am a hypochondriac and refuse to look up what a pollip on my cervix means, So I wanted to ask someone if they could narrow it down and tell me if it is something I need to be seen sooner about?

A polyp is just a benign growth of tissue--people get them other places as well (colon, sinus, ..), but not a crisis, as the ER workers sought to assure you. See the gynecologist as scheduled and s/he will advise you as regards polyp removal, or not, and about the infection. For now, don't sweat it. Also, do ask the doc if a pap smear is recommended. Now get ready to go ride this September.
