My mom hardly cooks and I don't know how to cook!?
My mom hardly cooks at all anymore. I mean I understand why. She works for about 12 hours a day and she's just really tired. But I feel like she just throws something together really quick just so there's something. But it's not enough for 3 meals. It's barely just enough for one meal, and my sister and I have to share it! I mean she doesn't starve us. Usually we just dig through the house until we find something, like ramen. But I get so tired of that. I want good, real food. I also feel like it's deteriorating me and my sister's health. My mom used to cook good meals before, but she stopped when my parents separated. I feel like it would be rude to confront her because I know she already works hard everyday at work to provide us with a house and all that, but she used to have the time to cook. Why can't she cook now? I would learn how to cook, but we don't even have food in our house to cook with and I can't drive anywhere to get food. What should I do?

In the children's or young adult section of your school library, you're quite likely to find cookbooks about foods even children can prepare. They give all the ingredients and complete directions.
Cooking isn't just about using heat. It's also about preparing sandwiches, salads, fruit mixtures, beverages, and even certain canned things.
Tell your mom that you and your sister are ready to learn to prepare meals. You could start with simple, inexpensive packages of macaroni and cheese, which only require milk and margarine to prepare. You can learn to use apples, bananas, tomatoes, and frozen vegetables for their vitamin content. Breakfasts can be cold cereal, juice, and milk, or you can cook quick oatmeal with cinnamon and apple chunks. Later on you can learn various ways of cooking eggs, cheap and very valuable for their protein content.
You'll need to learn to plan your meals according to your resources. If you raid the fridge and the cupboards for quick between-meal snacks, there won't be anything for supper. If you get pre-packaged cold cuts and prepared produce at the grocery store, they'll cost a lot more than basic hamburger and plain fruits and veggies you peel and slice yourselves.
Get your mom on board with teaching you fundamental kitchen procedures. She can work up a list of ordinary foods to have in the house for you to use to make meals, and buy them from time to time at the store. Keep a shopping list so she'll know what you're about to run out of. She'll be really grateful in a few more weeks, when she arrives home and smells a savory dinner all ready, that you and your sister have prepared.

As you said your mom is working hard for you there is no reason in blaming her.you can do one thing one fine day you let her know about the problem softly. im sure that she will be with the solution.
May be she wants you to work as well and be independent or she wants you to learn cooking which will be helpful to you in future or she is saving as much money as she can for future prospects.
Hope my answer will be helpful :)
