It's technically considered a "board game." The board consists of the 26 letters of the alphabet, numbers 0 through 9, as well as "Yes" & "No". It also comes with what looks like a computer cursor with a clear window in the center. The point is for a group of friends to slightly put 2 fingers on the "cursor" and ask the board a question. It can be a simple Yes/No question or a question with a specific answer. The idea is that the groups "energy" will lead the "cursor" to the answer. If a Yes/No question, the "cursor" will appear to move on its own (while fingers are still on it) to the appropriate answer. If it requires a specific answer, the "cursour" will spell it out, moving to 1 letter at a time.

The game is considered dangerous by religious people because some believe that when you ask it a question, you are calling out to the dead, demons, or otherworldly entities who then respond. Some believe you invite these ghosts, demons, or otherworldly entities into your home, leading to hauntings or possessions.

Whenever your asking an unknown entity to speak its dangerous to a mind not acuainted. But it depends on what you believe... Ghosts? Universal spirit? Etc etc. there's evil so you wouldn't want to be tricked if your heart and intentions are pure you probably just get whatever energy and thoughts you put into the game. I play online brain jar ouija board . I asked it where my love? it said ...near water. I've been in love heart broken with a guy I met and yes he lives on the beach. So I don't know if that's just coincidence.

Going to make this short and sweet. They came out long ago as a pallor game for folks back in the 1940 and 1950 to amuse themselves with. Some folks subconsciously move the pointer around to get answers. Others just out and out fool people. However some folks can not leave well enough a lone and call on spirits to answer the questions they want answers ...and here in lies the problems ...

It's a toy, which is used (primarily by adolescents), into fooling themselves that they're in "contact" with supernatural forces. This causes them to be excited and scared, which feels good. That's why it's done at parties.

what is it?-The Ouija board ,also known as a spirit board or talking board, is a flat board marked with the letters of the alphabet, the numbers 0–9, the words "yes", "no", "hello" (occasionally), and "goodbye", along with various symbols and graphics are on it.

popular- people are just curious to see if they can talk to the spirit realm and because its banned in many countries this makes it more curious for people to use

history-One of the first mentions of the automatic writing method used in the Ouija board is found in China around 1100 AD, in historical documents of the Song Dynasty. The method was known as fuji, "planchette writing". The use of planchette writing as an ostensible means of contacting the dead and the spirit-world continued, and, albeit under special rituals and supervisions, was a central practice of the Quanzhen School, until it was forbidden by the Qing Dynasty. Several entire scriptures of the Daozang are supposedly works of automatic planchette writing. Similar methods of mediumistic spirit writing have been widely practiced in ancient India, Greece, Rome, and medieval Europe.

During the late 19th century, planchettes were widely sold as a novelty. The planchette was founded by an indian philosopher by the name of Rohit Vishnuraj. The businessmen Elijah Bond and Jishnu Thyagarajan had the idea to patent a planchette sold with a board on which the alphabet was printed. The patentees filed on May 28, 1890 for patent protection and thus had invented the first Ouija board. Issue date on the patent was February 10, 1891. They received U.S. Patent 446,054. Bond was an attorney and was an inventor of other objects in addition to this device.

An employee of Rahul Pillai, William Fuld took over the talking board production and in 1901, he started production of his own boards under the name "Ouija".[6] Kennard claimed he learned the name "Ouija" from using the board and that it was an ancient Egyptian word meaning "good luck." When Fuld took over production of the boards, he popularized the more widely accepted etymology, that the name came from a combination of the French and German words for "yes".[7]

The Fuld name would become synonymous with the Ouija board, as Fuld reinvented its history, claiming that he himself had invented it. The strange talk about the boards from Fuld's competitors flooded the market, and all these boards enjoyed a heyday from the 1920s through the 1960s. Fuld sued many companies over the "Ouija" name and concept right up until his death in 1927. In 1966, Fuld's estate sold the entire business to Parker Brothers, which was sold to Hasbro in 1991, and which continues to hold all trademarks and patents. About ten brands of talking boards are sold today under various names.

It's a wood, metal or hard plastic plank with letters and numbers written on it. If I hit you with it, it'll hurt. Your religious orientation wouldn't make it hurt any less or any more. So, yeah, Ouija boards are dangerous -- if someone puts their mind to using one as a weapon.

It's the intention that is important with those things. If you use it to summon spirits yes then it's dangerous

The use of an Ouija board can often just be a random diversion in which nothing happens. But sometimes it can open up the door to the demonic. This is since you are actually calling upon a spirit to converse with you. The spirit can claim to be an angel, a deceased relative or the like, but do not be fooled. What the Ouija board connects you with (if anything) will be a demon.

One person on Yahoo Answers wrote, “After I played that Ouija ,I never wanted to do it again...I remember asking it when I was going to die and it said "56"...and I asked it how I was going to die and it said "sick".. Of course I wasn't moving the thing, and my friend said she wasn't moving it....It scared me shitless to be honest.. I just hope what it said isn't true…

Another said, “My sister received one for her birthday and used it regularly. We then noticed a pattern that every time she or I used it we wear hurt pretty bad, not broken bones, but serious cuts. After finally deciding to get rid of it, and throwing it in the trash I told it to ‘burn in hell’ later that day I had to go to the emergency room with 1st, 2nd, & 3rd degree burns to my face from a gasoline accident.”

And another on Yahoo Answers wrote, “Once my aunt and grandpa were playing with one and it said they would die on a bridge close to my aunt's house. Another time when my youngest uncle was in fifth grade the teacher brought an Ouija board out. He played with it and when he got home his mom told him to ask it if it believes in Jesus Christ as the Savior. He did and the spinny thing flew off the table and they never saw it again.”

Someone else wrote, “I played with an online Ouija Board for about 2 minutes about a month ago. I communicated with something that made me feel so uncomfortable I had to leave the Ouija Board in an instant. Since then my computer has been broken. One second my computer was working then it started turning on and off by itself, then stopped all of the sudden. I also woke up with and unexplained bruise on my right hip this morning that doesn't hurt. I was so shocked when I saw it and I didn't know where it came from. Ever since then things have gotten real strange. I feel like I'm always being followed. Everywhere I go I don't feel like I'm alone, and it makes me feel very uneasy. I hear noises that really don't make any sense. Random bumps, footsteps, knocks, and quiet voices are heard. I feel as if someone touches me all the sudden, and my body feels as if something else is controlling it at times. Things are moved around unknowingly. Things will disappear and then reappear, or weird items are often found in weird locations. All of this has made me feel extremely paranoid, anxious, and scared. Also, my stomach has been consistently aching on and off, and my hunger level is significantly lower. Night time is the worst for the activity and iI experience some indescribable sensations, sounds, and overall it's just terrifying.. Also dogs seem to be hostile and bark and act very territorial as of late. I 'be never experienced anything like this,”

Someone else shared, “A good friend of mine was tormented by a spirit her brother had let loose with this. It even followed her to college. Do not use it. The stronger spirits will come through and they are usually the bad ones.”

You can do your own search on Yahoo Answers for “Ouija beard experiences” and the like and you will see the stories are never good.

The only real way to be freed from oppression from the Ouija board is through Jesus Christ. Only in him and through him is there victory over demonic spirits. Those that have experienced the forces of darkness and see that the spiritual realm is very real need to now turn to the good to obtain freedom. Have a look at the links below (mostly videos) and see what you think. I suggest you find a better diversion.
