How much is a full groom at Petco? Bath, nails, cut, etc... Medium sized dog, Australian Shepherd?

I don't recommend petco, petsmart or stores like that. Find a grooming shop that doesn't have a big clientele & a lot of commotion. It is much easier on the dogs. A small shop out of the way would be a good place to start. & if you don't like that shop, try another until you find the right groomer.

It is hard to find good people out of the blue, ask your friends & your Vet who they would recommend. Word of mouth is a good advertiser.

You need to call and ask, and be sure that the price you are quoted covers everything that you want done (sanitary trim? nails? anal sacs? ear cleaning? bath and haircut? anything else?). You can probably get a better deal from an independent groomer who will charge you less and do more for your dog plus has a lot of years of experience.

FYI it isn't a good idea to cut the coats of double-coated breeds (the ones who shed seasonally) since it destroys their insulation from the heat of summer. Most groomers will do it for you if you insist but you should be aware of what the haircut will do to the dog, first.

I'm pretty sure that the price would vary from one Petco to another, or even by which state it might be in, so I would suggest that you call the Petco that you want to take your dog to and ask them. No offense, but I wouldn't take my dog to be groomed at a *chain store* Groomer. I've heard horror stories about them, and their Groomers are NOT trained properly. I wouldn't want anyone touching my dog that's had two weeks of training, even if clipping wasn't involved.

    Depends on the store.

    ... call and find out.

Prices vary... calling and asking is too simple, is it not?
