My wife just recently gave birth to our son who is 3 months old now. My question is that we would like to avoid pregnancy for at least 5 yrs?

The Copper IUD (or Paragard) protects against pregnancy for up to 10 years. It's also hormone free!

Depends what the wife wants and what the doctor or family planning clinic suggest. Long time ago after my daughter was born I didnt want anymore kids so we used condoms for over 20 years and never got pregnant again, Good Luck

Use condoms, birth control pills, IUD and anything else to prevent another pregnancy before you're both ready.

Copper IUD (paragard). I've had mine for over a year and love it. It's hormone free so no crazy weight gain, no mood swings and best of all: no unwanted pregnancy.

Time to take a trip to see the OBGYN. I think that the bes bet is the usual pills or maybe an IUD, depending on which you two are more comfortable with. Until that, condom, abstain during ovulation, pull out, all of the above!

personally whatever method of birth control you use isnt 100% effective for me i am on the implant witch last for 3 years even though you can still get pregnant i havent done in 19 years havea discussion with family planning as they will advise witch is the best if its pills use condoms aswell

The IUD is an early abortion device; I doubt that you would want that. I recommend consistent condom use.

Don't make love during the times she can get pregnant.

    She should get an IUD.
