What do I have to do in order for the DA to drop the case?

I have court hearing tomorrow and I'm nervous, I dont want to proceed with the restraining order and I want to know what I could to so that the DA doesn't give a restraining order.

Unfortunately there is nothing you can do to get the DA office to drop an epo.

This is because many times ( in the past) the victim would drop the charges , and wind up back in the same situation or dead. This is why the cops and DA office DO NOT drop the charges by the victim' s request, per state laws any more.

DO NOT lie in court since you are under oath at the time. That is perjury, a felony, right there.

Get some mental professional help yourself. Many places work on a sliding income scale fee.

You can ask. If what you've described to date merits a restraining order, he will try to convince you otherwise, and he's probably right. Don't be intimidated into situations that will endanger you further. If your gut told you a restraining order was necessary at one point, that was probably the right decision and remains so. I suspect the person you're seeking the order against is manipulative as hell. You want to be kept away from such control freaks for you own good, since giving in to that pressure just means more and more dangerous actions in the future.

Don't lie in court. Tell the judge and the DA, while you are on the stand, that you don't want the restraining order. But if they ask, "did he beat you?", tell the truth.

Are you not reading the answers posted or are you simply choosing to ignore them? There is nothing you can do to get the DA to drop the case if the DA believes they have a case. Nothing, nada, zip.

I also notice you say nothing about what happened and why you think the case should be dropped...

You could try telling them you lied about what happened and why you wanted the order in the first place. Of course, that might get you in trouble.
