What kind of spider is this?

I live in southern BC. This mother is huge! What is it and should I be concerned??? I.e is this poisonous? Is it female (eggs?)? Is there usually more than one????

This is a very harmless grass spider in the Agelenopsis genus, and certainly nothing to be concerned with.

I think your little friend here is male, probably wandered inside by mistake.

Their close cousin, the giant house spider can get a lot bigger, but still, no worries.

I used to play with such spiders as a kid, quick if you spook them, and these even make good pet spiders.
