Trouble with my closest friend?

I'm a uni student and life out of home, but my friend lives with her family. I met my friends parents a few weeks ago. I was nothing but polite, and from what I could see it went well. Then a few weeks later found out my friend had an argument with her parents because they had accused me and being her lesbian lover. I'm not gay, and don't consider gay an insult, but the assumption hurt my feelings. Decided it was better to laugh about it so just make jokes about it now. However, when me and my friend hang out, usually studying, she always gets phone calls harassing her about where she is. So she went home and had a massive fight with her family. Wouldn't tell me what happened which is unusual. But she has told others. And I walked in on her talking about it to someone. Apparently her parents said she is in an abusive relationship, and just because I don't hit her, it's detrimental to her as I take up too much of her time where she should be studying, and I put ideas in her head. She recently dropped a subject, because she wanted to and I'm getting the blame for it. I find it sickening they would say something like that as I have only met them once, was nothing but polite, and have had my own experience with truly abusive relationships (restraining order from my ex bf). My friend is awesome, and I don't want to lose her, but also don't wAnt to mess up her family. I find this whole thing is stressful to me as well. Not sure what to do.
