Does the capo change the fret numbers in tabs?

I'm not used to reading tabs with a capo and I was wondering if there was a capo on the third fret of a guitar, then does that make the fifth fret the seventh fret now? Or is it still the fifth fret from the nut of the guitar?

    try both fret placings and the one that sounds right will give you your answer
