Small Business Tax Questions - please help!?

When entering the gross sales and taxable sales, why does it add both up? Most of my sales were taxable. I did not make the amount it is showing I made half of that so I am very confused and it is my first time filing. Did not make much. Thanks in advance!

You appear to be talking about the California Board of Equalization tax form. On-Line? And why now? The quarterly report for June 30th was due before July 31. Since this is your first year in business, you really shouldn't be required to file yet at all.

Enter GROSS SALES on line one. If you had no purchases subject to use tax, line three will be the same.

The difference between taxable sales and gross sales will be a DEDUCTION on line 10. Shipping and Labor?

Line twelve will be your TAXABLE SALES.

Do not include sales tax collected in these amounts. You don't want to pay sales taxes on taxes collected.

GO TO http://www.boe.ca.gov/ for more information and help.

Depending on your location, you may have to file the supplemental for a district tax. Follow the instructions or go into your nearest BOE office for more help.

And you really do need to make sure that you learn how to enter the information CORRECTLY where ever it is that you are trying to do it at this time and for this purpose.

Sales and use tax for this purpose you will need to go to your local sales and use tax office face to face after this Holiday week end off which will end September 2 Tuesday and try to get the CORRECT information from some one that does work at that office for this purpose and time.

Hope that you find the above enclosed information useful. 08/31/2014

Are you trying to file with your state for sales tax? Read the instructions again. You're doing something wrong.
