Should I make my girlfriend a necklace?

My girlfriends birthday was a few days ago. I thought about getting her a picture of us and a necklace which I'll be making out if a polished like green pyramid shaped rock I collected from a special trip. I'm not sure, if I should make the necklace, though. I'm worried she'll think in cheap instead of thinking of it as nice & sweet. Should I just buy one? Im not worried about the picture. We've been dating for 2 months & a half but, have been romantically interested in each other for a year. So, girls. Would you like to receive what I may be giving my girlfriend? Thanks, I appreciate it.

Dude, I'm a guy and even I can speak for the ladies. If she doesn't absolutely love you taking the time and effort to make something meaninful in remembance of a special trip, she's an idiot. That's a fantastic idea! If I had a girl do something that thoughtful for me, I'd be so happy. It wouldn't even have to be perfect. It's not just the thought that counts but the effort too. I think the world would be a slightly better place if you make and give her a necklace. Good on you Dylan. :)

Personally, no matter the gift, if my boyfriend went through the trouble of actually making it for me, I wouldn't think it cheap in the least.

Guys who tend to go for cheap gifts (assuming they can actually afford something nicer) usually do so because they are too lazy to actually think of something nicer to get and buy the first thing they see.

Basically, bottom line is that a guy who doesn't care enough to buy a decent gift certainly won't care enough to make a handmade necklace :) If you care enough to make the necklace, which clearly you do, then of course it is a sweet gift! How could it be cheap when you are willing to put in the effort and time to actually create something yourself?

I 100% agree with Paul. If a guy MADE me a piece of jewelry, I'd absolutely melt. Sure, a store-bought gift is still sweet and still appreciated, but something handmade? It's so much more meaningful and special. I prefer handmade gifts, myself.

Sounds like one lucky lady you got there!
