Christians: Why hate on homosexuals?
It's absolutely ridiculous how much of a bad rep gays get just for being themselves. Sure homosexuality is a sin, but it isn't the worst one! God views all sins equally. No sin is worse then the other to our heavenly Father. THEIR ALL THE SAME SO WHY HATE? IT'S LIKE GOING TO A PERSON AND SAYING THEY LIE SO THEIR GOING TO HELL! OR THEY STOLE SOMETHING SO THEIR GOING TO HELL! OR THEY SWEAR SO THEIR GOING TO HELL! God doesn't hate gays, so why should you? All Christians are hypocrites for hating homosexuals. The bible says to love your neighbors, and Christians OBVIOUSLY don't. If Christians are going around condemning gays they might as well do it to everyone else as well, since we all sin.

You are right.
Homosexuality is the same as sins that many "Christians" commit often: lying, sex before marriage, being judgmental, and hating your fellow man.
I do not hate gays, nor do I judge them. I may disagree with their lifestyle, but I disagree with a lot of things. Hating gays, or any other type of people, is not God-glorifying. I wish more Christians understood this.

Your problem happened when you assumed being gay is a sin. NEWS FLASH! It isn't.
Anyone who tells you that being gay is a sin is a victim of the largest and oldest con job on earth. It is well known that all 6 (6. Count 'em. 6 out of thousands) of the so-called "anti-gay" verses were mistranslated and misinterpreted multiple times over the centuries, either through simple error or from political expedience. Here's how to read them they way they were actually written: http://www.believeoutloud.com/boltoday/20111230/cl...
There, see? Not one word of those is actually "anti-gay". Not. One. Word.
The Bible is and always has been a tool for political control. This is less important today in literate Western Society, but in a preliterate Society, it was critical tool for controlling the population. "Translation errors" which made the ruler's job easier were inserted into holy works routinely. In the case of homophobia, they were inserted because the early church needed vast numbers of worshipers in order that it could compete against the established religions of the day. The best way to get those new worshipers was to breed them, and thus "be fruitful and multiply" came into being. Sometime during the past 2000 years we've forgotten the reason why and now all that remains in the religion's institutional memory is the manufactured "fact" that being gay is evil.
Think about it. Jesus was supposed to have travelled all over the place, healing the sick, curing the crippled and generally tossing miracles around left and right. Why then, in all that time was he never once shown "curing" a gay person? There he was, hanging around with 12 other dudes, oiling each other up and generally having a fun time and what was he saying? "Love thy neighbour." "By their fruits shall ye know them." "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone." and the biggie: "Judge not, lest ye be judged." Not once did he ever say anything about being gay. Not. One. Word.

They are brainwashed into believing that they are "hating the sin not the sinner" but fail to realize that just by them calling it a sin is the problem. I don't think 90% of people who try to preach the bible have actually ever read it from cover to cover. Because if so they would see the wording in it's context of the story and the other completely crazy rules that are in there that no one in this day and age follows.

What I've found is that many religious people tend to treat their holy books rather like a Chinese buffet; They pick what suits their tastes, and ignore the things that don't suit their tastes.
Classical conditioning, for thousands of years, has made the human race revere fertility. Crops, kids, livestock, and anything, or person, that won't reproduce is hated because it's not understood.
As you go through life, you'll find that most people tend to be that way when dealing with things they don't understand. I made the mistake of speaking of atheism in front of a deeply religious neighbor; now I get preached at, find spiritual cards on my door and in my mailbox, all because she doesn't understand something.
We've got wars going on over differing religious beliefs and the failure to understand other religious beliefs.

"Sure homosexuality is a sin"
Says YOU and YOUR religion, but in the public sector someones sexual orientation is no one else's business. That is what Christians need to learn.
Christians don't fight the Jewish for denying Jesus, they don't fights Islam because they worship false teachings according to the truth found in the christian bible, yet somehow homosexuality is different, well is not ALL sin EQUAL in the eye's of the lord (Christians).
Selective harassment of ""sinners, un"" does you and your religion no justice.

Christians do not hate gays. What we hate are the things they do with one another. Gays provide Christians with a mission field with which to share God's love. Unfortunately, many Christians do not show God's compassion and understanding when it comes to witnessing to those who reject God's teachings. According to Paul's epistles, homosexuality can be repented of, and lives can be changed.

As a bisexual Christian I don't have that worry. I can see what Jesus says concerning anyone who trusts him for his sacrifice and know that, according to Jesus, my trust in him is sufficient to do my part to achieve salvation from him.
So even though I'm not Mr. Perfect, I have peace with God in Christ, which is what the "good news" is supposed to be about.

No one should hate homosexuals. But if you don't want to be offended don't ask a Christians opinion on homosexual acts. It's against the rules.
But they are free to screw whoever they want to and live however they like.

Homosexuals are people and we love them and respect them. But Leviticus 18:22 says, "You must not lie down wiith a male, the same way you lie down with a woman. It is a detestable act." So therefore, since God hates the act, we hate the act, but not the people themself.
