The composition uses the "rule of 3" The picture is divided into thirds. The orange of the table contrasts with the blue of the clock faces. Complementary colors. The strong contrast between light and dark. Light direction and light and shadow is correct. There are five main elements An odd number is correct. There is a hint of areal perspective in the distant landscape.The composition works. with the table planes and the tree limb direction keep the viewer's eyes within the painting.
