Parents pressuring me for Kumon.?

Apparently i'm in year 8 and I get a lot of assignments, homework and worst of all the extra Kumon. The thing is that it's hard to juggle them all at once, my parents think that maths is the most important and if I miss Kumon homework than I'm jeopardizing my career. I already get As in maths and dad is not satisfied with it. They say that this year you might get As but next year or the year after I would drop my grades to a C. I have assignments and homework and if I dont do it on time than I would get a bad grade anyway. If I don't do Kumon on time than my Dad would taunt me for that i'm wasting his money. I can't quit as I'm scared of him and I've tried to ask and he said NO because I won't be able to get ahead. I'm stuck if i don't do homework i get a failing grade, if i dont do kumon than i would upset my dad and make him angry which is scary and i end up crying. He thinks that I dont study if I dont do kumon homework.

Oh God, I remember having to go to Kumon when I was younger. Luckily I was only in year 5 or 6 though so I didn't have to worry about lots of assignments from school as well. Mostly just a bit of homework from school and Kumon.

Since you are in year 8 and have to do assignments as well, I can see how this can make you stressed. You're grades are very good so I'm surprised that your parents make you go to Kumon. Most parents make their children go there because they are not doing that well at school and their education is less then it should be (like me and my sister). I wasn't a smart cookie at all. Even now I'm dumb, but I'm never going back to Kumon.

I think you should try to make an agreement with your Dad. Say something to him like "I can understand why you want me to do well in school and I'm glad that you want me to, but juggling Kumon with my assignments is making me really stressed. If you let me not do Kumon next year, as soon as my grades drop to anything under a B, you can take me back to Kumon and I will do something to earn extra credit, but if my grades continue going well and you make me a bit of maths homework to do once a week (could be on timetables or whatever), then there will be no more Kumon. Is that a deal?" Hopefully your parents will go along with it. I know it sounds hard, but I beleive in you since you are clearly doing well in Maths and even if you don't make it, the worse thing that will happen is that you have to go back to Kumon which sucks, but that's no different to what you're doing now.

    Good luck! :)

    Tell your dad wat's up,

if i had a son and thats the case, i would sit down and talk to him about it, or go tell your mom, talk to him and explain to him instead of being a P-U-S-S-Y AND A COWARD,

    STAND YOUR GROUND BOY
