How many of you gun control & gun ban supporters think the 47 year old widow in Phoenix was wrong to have a gun?

Update:

It was NOT a licensed gun, since there is NO licensing requirements for guns in Arizona, you don't even need a permit to carry concealed if you live in Arizona.

Not killing him was not a deliberate action. She shot to stop the threat, he is simply fortunate that he survived, because he was very close to death, the month in the hospital demonstrates that.

Update 2:

@Artemisc - Your figures are way off.

I don't think she was wrong to have a gun. I'm also pretty positive hers was a licensed gun and her husband (who purchased the gun) had a background check.

I don't think defending your life with a gun is wrong, as she was obviously doing. I wonder if anyone notices she didn't kill the guy.

I don't agree with guns. We can all have a split second lapse of judgement - and thats all it takes to pull the trigger and completely end another persons life.

Here in the UK guns have been all but outlawed and our gun crime is next to non-existent (still get some popping up in big cities like london, but in medium cities its unheard of). The USA's intentional homicide rate (never mind accidental) is 5 times higher than it is here in the UK.

I know some (or most? lol) probably think I'm crazy but I think the figures speak for themselves. I don't need a gun to defend myself or my home. I know the usual argument of gun enthusiasts are "but criminals have guns". But that argument is invalid imo as usually criminals get their guns by stealing them from peoples homes.

Someone wants to kill me? I'm going to make damned sure they have to put a lot of effort into it.
