Would you get mad if someone cancelled a get together because of this?

Would you get mad, if a guy in college (who is very "strict" or strong in his morals) cancelled an event that you were invited to because of this.

So there are 7 people, 2 are girls, the rest are guys. They all live in dorms, except one who is a house by himself. You are in a christian college too. So the male host who lives in a house decides to have a movie night. Everyone will come over and watch a movie for a couple of hours, hang out etc. So one of the 2 girls realizes she can't go. So the guy now cancels the movie night because he doesn't like the idea of 5 guys and just one girl.

Would you be mad at the guy, or would you understand why he canceled it? No, it is not because he liked the other girl and when she could come, he canceled. The host does not like either girl in an attraction manner.

Would you be mad/upset/non understanding towards the male host?

No, he did the right thing, it just doesn't look good and he knows it. It is "safer" and "appropriate to have at least 2 or 3 girls hanging out with a group of guys. Think about it, in this day when rape and sexual molestation are commonplace, especially at the college level, what guy or group of guys wants their reputation ruined because there was no second witness/voice to validate that what they do/don't do happened.

Why couldn't he just invite a different girl? I mean it is a little strange. I went to a Christian University as well and spent several nights just hanging out with 3 guys who were my best friends.

It sounds like there might be more going on than you know.

Anyway, I wouldn't be mad if I were you. I would just brush it off and find something else to do.

I think the host has issues. Clearly the assumption is that one girl can't be safe with five guys and that's simply not true. I would have to wonder at, and worry about, leaving the host alone with a single female.
